Dogs
If you see a lost or stray dog, please contact Northampton County Non-Emergency at (610) 759-2200. Do not call 911.
The Nazareth Police department will determine if the animal control officer will need to respond. You may call the Nazareth Police directly at 610-759-9575 during business hours to report a lost dog or if you find a stray.
Feral Cats Control
Do you see feral or stray cats roaming in your neighborhood? Are you concerned about their presence? The Borough of Nazareth participates in the Trap Neuter Return (TNR) program with No Nonsense Neutering because TNR is the effective way to limit the increase of the community cat population. The Borough has vouchers for borough residents to have feral cats neutered and vaccinated for rabies at no cost to them. Residents must pick up the vouchers in person at the borough office...during business hours 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday... and bring an ID to prove residency, such as a utility bill. Further instructions are provided with the vouchers. Loaner traps are available from No Nonsense, but the borough office also has the names of several volunteers from FURR (Feline Urban Rescue and Rehab) who can assist with the trapping process.
Please call the Borough Office for more information - 610-759-0202 or appear in person at 134 S. Main Street. If you are a resident who feeds community cats, you should know that the borough ordinance allows this but only if the cats are already ear-tipped to show that they have been neutered or you are actively engaged in the process of trapping them.
